Today’s Face - 07/16/13
From left to right: NARS eyeshadow duo in India Song (gift), MAC blush in Harmony, L’Oreal Magic Perfecting Base face primer, Origins GinZing Brightening Mascara, Maybelline Baby Lips in Grape Vine, NARS blush in Sex Appeal, NARS Smudge Proof Shadow Base, MAC Moisturecover concealer in NW20, Prestige Ideal Match brow pencil in Medium/Deep, NARS eyeliner in Via de’ Martelli (c/o), Clinique Moisture Surge SPF 15 tinted moisturizer in #03.
Seeing my brow pencil and a NARS eyeliner next to each other, I’m reminded of how much I prefer a pencil I can sharpen over a twist up. Sure, I don’t end up with a nubby little thing, but there’s something oddly satisfying about the physical manifestation of a well-loved product.
Enough about my pencil quirks; let’s talk about the look. I’m primed and contoured to the best of my abilities and my brown eyeliner/brown eyeshadow situation is surprisingly not too…brown.
Two noteworthy items:
1) I definitely should have included L’Oreal’s Magic Perfecting Base in my list of drugstore favorites. It’s by far the best face primer for mattifying skin AND minimizing the appearance of pores.
2) If you don’t mind the immature packaging (What did I expect from a product with “baby” in its name?), Maybelline’s Baby Lips lip balms are tip top for hydration and a wash of color without feeling sticky or waxy. Think of Baby Lips as Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment's younger, more affordable sister.
I forgot to toss a powder in my makeup bag this morning so wish me luck staying shine-free this afternoon!
